Compare what the player can infer. The scale labels describe the production context of each example.
These are editorial historical comparisons for UIX-01. We screened publisher galleries and developer manuals for 24 PC games and two console titles, selected readable feature-level exhibits and ranked how clearly they answer the question at the moment of use, how well the image and original account support the reading, and what distinct method the example contributes. Scope spans the 1990 Monkey Island lineage through 2024 releases. Awards identify the category a jury actually recognized. The editorial rank is a judgment about this interface problem, not that jury’s verdict or a vote covering every game ever made. The three Snake Eyes picks optimize for transfer to the estate and opponent-turn arena, separately from rank.
Each entry links to the image and the feature evidence. Award badges name the recognized category. The saved direction records the director’s own choices.

Faces and a literal outcome distinguish an actual result from a check the player is only considering. The accompanying text gives the result meaning in the fiction.
Evidence plus a stated finding
The interface names the finding and points to both pieces of evidence, then exposes a new available action. The player can separate what was found from what they may do next.
Settled status on a persistent tree
The decision is recorded at both overview and detail levels. The player can later distinguish an enacted law from a possible law without replaying its signing.
Recorded achievement on a destination card
The player can revisit a list and read the recorded award beside its specific test. Distinct medal shapes and colors make the comparison possible at a glance.
Now-playing state separate from browsing
The repeated track title, note and available Stop action provide evidence of the active playback state even if someone returns to the screen mid-track.
Completed objective and spent action
The record of seven defeated enemies shows the count beside its crossed-out goal. The player can recover the completed condition after looking elsewhere.
Turn ownership receipt
A large ownership message competes briefly for attention while a smaller label repeats the current public owner where the player can find it.
Expose the contribution as scoring proceeds
The local increment connects a contribution to its visible source. The score panel shows the wider calculation still underway.
Local number and updated state
A local impact mark attracts attention and a persistent numerical health total preserves the readable state. The card text and the health value serve different jobs.
Spatial response to a scan
The scanning action produces a spatially readable response where the relevant world information is located. The developer’s description explains that searching can also produce audio cues.
