Destination label alone, explanation on focus, or preview before committing?
Look for the evidence that a thing can be addressed, focused or used in this state.
The marker sits beside Campaign in the estate’s list of destinations.

Keep an NPC greeting visually separate from the destination or action Isaiah can choose.
When a battle action cannot currently proceed, test a brief truthful reason instead of relying on dim text.
Compare what the player can infer. The scale labels describe the production context of each example.
These are editorial historical comparisons for UIX-01. We screened publisher galleries and developer manuals for 24 PC games and two console titles, selected readable feature-level exhibits and ranked how clearly they answer the question at the moment of use, how well the image and original account support the reading, and what distinct method the example contributes. Scope spans the 1990 Monkey Island lineage through 2024 releases. Awards identify the category a jury actually recognized. The editorial rank is a judgment about this interface problem, not that jury’s verdict or a vote covering every game ever made. The three Snake Eyes picks optimize for transfer to the estate and opponent-turn arena, separately from rank.
Each entry links to the image and the feature evidence. Award badges name the recognized category. The saved direction records the director’s own choices.

Handles resemble tools that can be used. The printed destination on the document suggests where to place it, and the two contrasting stamp faces identify the available branches.
Focused row inside a named destination
The player can identify the row that will receive input, its parent episode and alternatives in the same view. The frame works without requiring movement.
Inactive command with a visible requirement
The condition text explains a requirement while the sorting options remain available. The player can distinguish action availability from the objects visible on the table.
One visible verb in an encounter
The creature speaks through a bubble. The only proposed action has a bracketed verb on a button-shaped strip below. The separation is visible before anyone presses it.
Contextual verb and target
The interaction exposes possible verbs while leaving the painted room intact. The pointer can be linked to a person rather than to a disembodied menu item.
Current action and physical control
The named action, glyphs and highlighted row connect an abstract menu list to a physical input. The bottom bar supplies separate navigation actions.
Selected reply within a choice set
A changed fill, border and small marker isolate one potential reply inside a group. The petitioner’s text above occupies a different surface.
Capability named inside an available action
Requirements sit inside the available choices. A reader can infer why their current ship opens specific responses while normal navigation remains recognizable.
Distinct verbs and destinations
Back and Start bracket the screen. Smaller editing verbs belong to the squad panel. Players can see how to leave, begin or edit without mistaking the pilot portrait for the launch action.
Armed action has its own mode
The selected command produces a distinct aiming surface, names the frag grenade and previews the blast footprint. The arena changes meaning as the player enters targeting.
